How to make an hero arena?
steps
1. The beginning
-What is hero arena?
-What makes an good hero arena? (IMO)
2. The mapping
-Layout
-Heros
-Triggers
The beginning
-What is hero arena?
You may be a n00b who doesn't know what is an Hero arena or you may already know, but anyway. hero arena is an very simple map by the idea. When you start playing an hero arena map, you usuylla have only 1 wisp and no resources, because you will only get one unit in this map.
You must use your wisp to choose from the category of different (Usually) heroes, with different skills. You must use your heros abilities to fight your way trought an maze styled arena where you have to kill different monster and sometimes even solve puzzles.
-What makes an good hero arena? (IMO)
-I think a good hero arena doesn't always have to bee the best looking, the idea and how it works is the main thing. Heres a list of thing i would like to see in hero arena maps.
-About 6-20 unique heros.
-Alot custom monster and stuff.
-The map must be working, you cant place monster that will kill you easily.
-Not too hard, but still challenge to complete.
The mapping
Layout:
-I think i told you something about the layout, but here is something more. :D
-The basic idea is the layout, no1 wants an bugged, stupid looking layout. Or an empty area, that would suck. Check out the image below:
Red: Place where you choose hero, seperated from the map.
Blue: The place where you end when you finish the maze.
Yellow dots: Groups of enemies, harder when nearing the end.
Pink dot: Something like an Boss enemy, should be in the blue zone.

Heroes
-The main thing in these kinda maps are the hero you use and the heroes which you choose from. All the heros MUST be Neutral passive type, so they dont wander around or get killed.
-Place all the player spawns near the heroes. Next is the triggers. Pay attetion on that!
Triggers
-The wisp
Create Wisp
-Events
--Map initialization
-Conditions
-Actions
--Player Group - Pick every player in (All players) and do (Actions)
--Loop - Actions
--If (All Conditions are True) then do (Then Actions) else do (Else Actions)
--If - Conditions
--((Picked player) controller) Equal to User
--((Picked player) slot status) Equal to Is playing
--Then - Actions
--Unit - Create 1 Wisp for (Picked player) at ((Picked player) start location) facing Default building facing degrees
--Else - Actions
--Do nothing
-You should now have a working trigger that creates an wisp for every player when map starts. Now you should place an hero on the map, a power circle in front of it and an region inside the powercircle. and other region in the seperated area.
I used Hero 1 for region name in the power circle and Start for the other region. Then the triggers.

Choose Hero 1
-Events
--Unit - A unit enters Hero 1 Region
-Conditions
--((Unit-type of (Triggering unit)) Equal to Wisp) and (Pick_Taken[1] Equal to 0)
-Actions
--Set Pick_Taken[1] = 1
---Unit - Hide Demon Hunter 0001
----Unit - Create 1 Demon Hunter for (Owner of (Triggering unit)) at (Center of Start Region ) facing Default building facing degrees
-----Camera - Pan camera for (Owner of (Triggering unit)) to (Center of Start Region ) over 0.00 seconds
------Unit - Remove (Triggering unit) from the game
Finished hero arena:
