A Portal based modification that includes some of the most mind-bending and challenging portal puzzles around. Not to be attempted by the faint of heart. It follows the story of Subject Omega, who like Chell wakes up one day inside of he relaxation vault, only to face greater horrors.

Still in very early development, a release or even internal alpha for this mod won't be around for a while. Also, don't push for a release date, it will be done when it's done.

Subject Omega is looking for a quality mapper who has had experience with Portal. Applicants must be able to produce challenging and original maps.
Modeller

Skilled weapons modeller required! Needs to be able to show examples of previous work.
Skinner

Need a skilled skinner who can produce high-quality skins for custom models, both of characters and of world props.

Need a modeller specialising in the creation of character models, need to show examples of past work.

Well, here we are at the end of June. Looking back it has not been a productive month on the face of it, but there has been activity behind the scenes in the way of organising the mod and running it. There has been some progress with mapping and getting the mod files set-up.

Stuff to be done this month includes finding a web-host and getting a website up. Continuing with the mapping and of course, recruitment.

If you are interested in joining Subject Omega, we need experienced and dedicated mappers, modellers and skinners. We will happily accept any application for any position, as long as you can show examples of quality past work.

So, May has not been the most productive month content wise, but a lot has been happening. Firstly, we have new members to the studio which I would like to welcome, we have also got an uberstyle up and running courtesy of Lost and an awesome TBar too.

Next month will hopefully see some actual progress starting, with exam season coming to a close next week (well, for me anyway), some real mapping will be on the go. Expect to see some WIP's throughout the next month.

So just sit tight and the eye candy will be along shortly.

Welcome to Subject Omega, a Portal based Source modification following the trials of another experiment run by GLaDOS. This mod aims to have some fo the most challenging and mind-bending Portal maps made to the same high-quality of Portal.

There is no date set for the release of this mod, but you can assume that it won't be for a while, this mod will be done when it is done. I am not sacrificing quality for an early release date.

We need some level designers and a web designer to help get this project off the ground and get it moving.

When you finish this i am getting it looks amazing(if i can however). I do have one question though. Do i need portal or just half life2? I know this is a modification of portal but originally the regular portal was a modification of half life2(so i heard atleast). Sorry if this is common sense but i am new to the gaming world and i am very lost.

Right, I have found us a web-host and am in talks currently with getting a website up and running with some web devs. Will keep you all updated with progress as news comes in.

Well, it should be obvious what the player needs to do if it is still hard for them to do it when they know what they need to do. But if it is easy to do once they know what to do, then it should not be as obvious what they have to do to achieve it.

So things like ball cathing puzzles, it should be obvious that they will open a door or whatever, but how to do it should be up to them to work it out. Hey if its too hard or too easy we can always tweak it at a later date.

Um, how....well, idiot friendly should I make it for people to connect the dots so to speak for these puzzles that I've built?

X's on walls / draw attention towards panels that should be used for portals etc.

Just wondering who we should be gearing towards

So far pissed off both people now I got to test the last version.
