What are Studios?
Studios are groups of game designers, developers and others with game editing skills that work together to create and release game customizations such as skins, maps, GUIs, sprays and more.
What do Studios offer?
Studios are a facility much like a project management system, whereby members can communicate and share their developments. Current Studio features include a Dev Folder (for studio files), forum, showcase, WIPs section, help wanted section, request form, profile, project area and roster.
Can i join a Studio?
Yes, if you are skilled in a particular area of game editing you can look for a suitable studio to join and start helping out!
Can i join multiple Studios?
Yes, you can, but serious game developers aren't in more than a couple at most. If you make it your aim to join as many Studios as possible, you may be denied joining any more and kicked out of the ones you're in.
Can i start my own Studio?
Yes, but you must USE it - this means creating and releasing quality content on a regular basis - otherwise, your Studio will be removed to save space and keep the Studio community well regulated.
How do i add members to the Studio roster?
To add members, simply click Edit in your Studio profile, then click "Invites". Here you can search for members by name or userID. Once you have found the member you want to invite, tick the box and select whether the member should be a Leader or a Member. Members can add WiPs and release content under the Studio, while Leaders can do this and also have full access to the Studio's control panel.
How do i submit content under a Studio?
To submit content from a studio, simply select the studio in the Studio Release menu of the submission form. If you select "Independent Release", the submission will not be attached to any studio and no points will be awarded to any studios through views and favorites.
Can i submit any work under a Studio?
No. You should only submit content that has been produced by the Studio. Submitting someone else's work under your Studio suggests that the Studio had some role to play in the development of the content when it actually didn't.
What are projects?
Projects are a feature that allows you to separate different Studio work into separate areas, to improve organization. If your Studio is developing multiple things at once, you should consider creating a project for each development and releasing WiPs to the respective projects.
Can i upload anything to my Dev Folder?
No, you can't. The Dev Folder should be used only for Studio related files which you intend to share with other members in your Studio. If you upload non-related files your dev folder may be removed.
How often must my Studio submit work?
Your studio should submit content regularly - perhaps every week or every fortnight, depending on how many members you have and the type of content you are creating.
How do i improve my Studio's rank?
The studios are ranked by submission count, submission views and submission favorites. Obviously the best way to get a good rank then is to submit quality content that people want to look at!
What are WiPs?
WiPs or Works in Progress, are incomplete works that are approaching release. If you are working on something you can post a WiP and receive feedback from your studio members.
