There is now a section on the Banana for unfinished and finished map source files called "MiPs" (Maps in Progress). The MiPs section is like the prefabs section, but it's for entire maps rather than individual map objects.

It's primarily intended for incomplete maps that mappers have chosen to pass on to the general public, to allow other mappers to take up the challenge of finishing. It's also for open source files of completed maps, to allow new mappers to learn from the pros, or to allow others to remake, extend or mash up existing classics.

Check it out and if you're a mapper yourself, please consider adding some of your own map source files for other mappers to work on and learn from.

Should make an area for skin items like this. Texture for use etc...

General FPSB section of the textures section works well for that I think, just not a whole lot of people know of it.

Quoting everyone,

I love this, this is super helpful and original. And I believe it will help a lot of mappers and bring new ideas and creations into place.

Love ya Tom! :D

Good idea.
I remember Lost having some unfinished maps he only published through an unknown forum thread, let's hope they get more attention now.

I didn't post that to start an argument or debate

When you post a remark like "This sucks [ENTER] [ENTER]", what do you expect? Wake up. Perhaps next time you could post your opinion with a tad more diplomacy?

There are too many maps for me to bother assessing them. and even then I was talking about the abundance of similar maps in the server browser and in-game.

it's annoying when a map changes to a map that at first glance I thought I had, but then they have v2 or some other authors version.

I didn't post that to start an argument or debate, every man has a right to express his opinion. As do you but you seem like you two are looking for an argument.

I'm guessing we have to give partial author credit to the MiP's original creator?

That goes without saying.

This section is an excellent addition to FpsB. I personally have several uncompleted mapping journeys that fell short of their mark, not to say they are bad. More that it takes a small army of qualified competent designers, mappers, scripters and texture artists to create a truly magnificent play area. I can get many of my ideas to begin but have a hard time bringing them to an end. With this new section perhaps some of them will actually see the light of day.

And yes, , you should give proper credits for submitting any media not created completely on your own. And of course it is presumed that any media submitted in MiP section is for the community to work on and alter without further permission from its author(s).

Thanks again.
:D
