How to properly update your video cards drivers

1: Through "Add/Remove Programs" proceed to uninstall the Nvidia Display Driver.

2: Boot up into safe mode and run Driver Cleaner. Select "Nvidia" - Please note that these are seperate to the nforce driver cleaner filters - from the drop down menu (again select 'nVidia WDM' if your card has support and therefore drivers) and click on "Clean". Do the cleaning twice to make sure that everything is cleared out. At this point you may also want to clean the cab files too. To do this click on 'Tools' and then select 'Cab Cleaner', choose 'Driver.cab' and then 'Start'. This is not necessary however.

3: Restart your computer (normally this time) and wait for windows to go through it's stupid auto detection of your hadware before continuing, make sure you click 'cancel' and proceed to install the drivers yourself install your new drivers and restart your computer. - From [H]Forum

My pc is new lol

Ya, I know. I was just saying that nowadays, you can pin point what's going wrong most of the time, but with older computers sometimes you don't know, so if you just unhook everything and take everything out, it will work properly again most of the time.

I'm here, I've some how fixed the problem... for now.

I just took EVERYTHING out and put it back again and now it all works.
Random :S

Possibly was a ram issue :S

That seems to work with a lot of problems with old computers. Fucking computers. :P

The thing about the Arctic, is that you can't change the fan for a better one, like say a Noctua NF-P12.

If anything I'd go for the NH-U12P cooler, nearly as good as an ULTRA-120, and comes with one of the best fans on the market. It goes for about $60 so its not the cheapest, but the fan alone costs about $20 here.

The fan of the arctic is just perfect, I don't see any need to change it if it can hold 3.66Ghz of my core 2 duo.

The stock LGA775 Intel fan noise is 4.9 sone.

Here in the UK it's just over $80, Ah well, It's about the same price as the Tuniq Tower.

Does anybody have any noise level stats for the Q6600's stock HSF so I can compare with others?
