This club is for discussing NVIDIA, NVIDIA products, and NVIDIA related products.

How to properly update your video cards drivers

1: Through "Add/Remove Programs" proceed to uninstall the Nvidia Display Driver.

2: Boot up into safe mode and run Driver Cleaner. Select "Nvidia" - Please note that these are seperate to the nforce driver cleaner filters - from the drop down menu (again select 'nVidia WDM' if your card has support and therefore drivers) and click on "Clean". Do the cleaning twice to make sure that everything is cleared out. At this point you may also want to clean the cab files too. To do this click on 'Tools' and then select 'Cab Cleaner', choose 'Driver.cab' and then 'Start'. This is not necessary however.

3: Restart your computer (normally this time) and wait for windows to go through it's stupid auto detection of your hadware before continuing, make sure you click 'cancel' and proceed to install the drivers yourself install your new drivers and restart your computer. - From [H]Forum

I've played Crysis on a 9800GT EVGA 1Gb at 1280x1024 (My current highest. :<), and had 60fps constant... I then played it at 800x600, and I still had 60fps constant (Vsync was off, just in case you would like to know. Also my monitor is 75Hz).

Not only are both of those resolutions considerably low, that's also a sign of some other system component causing a bottleneck. Say resolutions doesn't matter in crysis to someone who plays it at 1680 x 1050, 1600 x 1200, 1920 x 1080, or 2048 x 1156. Not only does the resolution itself use a lot of visual resources, but rendering shaders, AA/AF, and post processing on that resolution is hefty work. Meanwhile at 1280 x 1024 or 800 x 600, the amount of stress being put on the card is minimal as far as what I mentioned earlier, your CPU is probably struggling more which would easily explain why your framerates at that resolution are consistent.

Hullu.

i was wondering if my 9800gt could run crysis max

It'll play with a minimum fps of 15fps. Depends on your CPU, OS, and also RAM.

You forgot the most important part, resolution. You silly silly boy.

Resoulution isn't important at all. n00b.

Really, res is one of the most important things. And my old 9800GT ran crysis pretty well at 1920x1200. Even if mine was a 9800GT Ultimate (with 128 shaders like the 8800GTS/9800GTX(+)/GTS250) i think it will run pretty good
